Epic 2-Day Mount Hood Summer Ski Elopement

Day 1: Mount Hood Ski Ceremony

C and P began their incredible ski elopement (dubbed “eslopement”) with a cozy morning at an Airbnb in the Mount Hood National Forest. The whole place was filled with excitement and laughter. As C got ready with her girl crew, P spent time with friends and family as they waited for the first look. C and P had a private first look moment just before the big reveal with the rest of the guests. True to their nature, C and P were incredible hosts. They made sure everyone was well fed with a locally catered breakfast.

After enjoying pancakes and scrambled eggs, everyone hopped into their cars for a fun caravan up to the Timberline ski resort. The excitement grew as they put on their ski boots and took the ski lift up the slopes. They planned for a 2-part ceremony to enjoy a later start to skiing since the lifts stop early afternoon. As their good friend officiated, C and P exchanged rings on Mount Hood overlooking the forest below.

Immediately after their brief ceremony, C and P skied together for the first time as a married couple in lieu of a first dance. It spoke true to their love and love of skiing, coming full circle from their first date. They shredded the slope and got in as many turns as the lift schedule allowed, having the time of their lives.

Later that afternoon, they continued to part two of their unique ski elopement at Trillium Lake for a more formal ceremony in the woods. C and P shared their vows in a quiet nook of the forest. Guests raised their glasses in toasts, sending more love to the couple. To continue their non-traditional celebration, C and P decided to celebrate with a matcha mille crepe, a special touch that added a personal flavor to the day.

As golden hour began, we made our way back to Mt Hood for evening portraits. The light was soft and perfect. C and P looked breathtaking in the meadow, and I captured their moments against the stunning landscape with a quiet nod to their love of skiing with the ski lifts in the background.

Day 2: Seattle Reception

The following day, everyone spent the morning traveling back to Seattle from Mount Hood for the reception. We first began with portraits at a great overlook view of the Seattle skyline and Mount Rainier. It was the perfect blend of city and nature for their unique elopement.

Later, we met up with the guests at Canlis, a renowned upscale restaurant with incredible city views. This was a beautiful way for the couple to share their love of Seattle with their family and friends. During cocktail hour, a few guests shared more speeches to give blessings, love, and advice to the newly weds.

Closing out their incredible 2-day elopement, we captured rooftop photos overlooking the iconic Lake Union.

This multi-day ski elopement adventure was a beautiful blend of nature, love, and celebration. From the slopes of Mt Hood to the lakeside woods, every moment was full of magic. An elopement like this, surrounded by stunning scenery and meaningful details, is a reminder of how unique each love story can be.
