A Cinematic Twin Peaks Elopement at Snoqualmie Falls

As a Washington elopement photographer, I love documenting days that feel deeply personal—and L & D’s Twin Peaks–inspired Snoqualmie Falls elopement was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. They traveled across the country to get married on Twin Peaks Day. Particularly, choosing Snoqualmie Falls as the backdrop for a cinematic, moody, and intentional elopement rooted in their shared love of the show and the Pacific Northwest.

Snoqualmie Falls is one of the most iconic elopement locations in Washington, and it couldn’t have been a more fitting setting for their story.

Their day began at Salish Lodge, perched right above Snoqualmie Falls. It was the perfect lodging that balanced comfort and wilderness access to one of Washington’s most dramatic landscapes. L spent the morning getting her hair and makeup done in their cozy room in quiet anticipation, though she had a moment to spare to call her family.

For their first look, L & D chose a viewpoint overlooking Snoqualmie Falls. The roar of the water below and the lush greenery surrounding them made the moment feel surreal. As their elopement photographer, I focused on capturing the emotion and scale of the scene—small, intimate moments set against a powerful natural backdrop.

After their first look, we hiked down to a viewpoint near the base of the falls. The mist rose from the water, creating a moody, almost otherworldly atmosphere that felt straight out of Twin Peaks. Surrounded by forest and rushing water, it was easy to forget the rest of the world existed.

For their ceremony, L & D chose a quiet, secluded hiking location away from the crowds. Before exchanging vows, D surprised L with a deeply personal moment: a close friend had written a heartfelt letter and selected a meaningful book excerpt to be read aloud. It set an intimate, emotional tone that carried through the ceremony. As L & D read their vows, the other who listen, hanging on to every word. At the end of their ceremony, they exchanged vows and sealed it with a kiss beneath the rushing Snoqualmie waterfall.

After the ceremony, we explored some of the most recognizable Twin Peaks filming locations. They stopped at the Roadhouse and Reinig Bridge—also known as “Ronette’s Bridge” in the show. Each stop added another layer to their day, blending fandom, nostalgia, and storytelling into their elopement experience.

To end their elopement day, L and D visited Twede’s Cafe, famously featured in Twin Peaks. Over slices of cherry pie, they signed their marriage license. It was such an intimate and playful way to wrap up a day that felt entirely their own.

It was the perfect ending to a thoughtfully crafted Snoqualmie Falls elopement, full of meaning, adventure, and personality.

L and D’s day is a perfect example of how meaningful themes and intentional planning can transform an elopement into an unforgettable experience. Snoqualmie Falls offers dramatic scenery, iconic landmarks, and easy access to secluded ceremony locations. It’s truly one of the best places for a Washington elopement.

If you’re planning a Snoqualmie Falls elopement or Twin Peaks–inspired wedding, I’d love to help you document it in a way that feels true to your story.
